Council Confirms List of Consultants for Pomonal Rebuild

Council have assembled a list of consultants to serve as an easily-accessed resource for Pomonal residents seeking fire risk assessment to assist in rebuilding homes.

Residents are to contact a consultant/s from the list, and once they have decided which consultant’s offered timeframe for reporting suits them, are to notify Council’s Recovery Officer, John Matthews, advising their preferred consultant.

The next steps of the process can be read in full at our dedicated Fire Recovery page.

“After the bushfires of February this year, Council recognised that a key requirement for rebuilding would be bushfire assessments,” says Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison.

“Council sought, and was successful in applying for, State funding to assist with bushfire assessments required for rebuilding homes. This service arrives in conjunction with other measures to aid the rebuilding process, such as waiving Council planning and building fees and working with other statutory referral agencies to reduce red tape, allowing the Pomonal community to rebuild quickly and safely.”

There are six highly qualified consultants on the list of approved assessors, all the details of which are currently published on our Fire Recovery page.
