Ararat Rural City Council’s Community Grants Continue to Uplift Local Groups

Ararat Rural City is pleased to announce the recipients of the latest round of its Community Grants Program. The Program proudly champions community-led endeavours, providing financial support to amplify engagement across a number of categories.

This round, Ararat Rural City Council awarded three projects with grants totalling $6,935. Recipients include the Ararat Basketball Association for new uniforms to encourage more female players, Mt William Polo Club for their Mount William Station Polo Tournament event in October, and Pomonal Primary School to support their upcoming Art Show.

The Program has been successful in supporting local initiatives and strengthening community bonds. Community groups were encouraged to apply for grants of up to $5,000 on a two-for-one basis, available in four categories: sports/recreation and health/wellbeing, culture and arts, environment and sustainability, and events.

"Our Community Grants Program is designed to support local initiatives and encourage community involvement, " says Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison. “We’re so pleased to roundly congratulate this year’s recipients.”

Applications for the Community Grants Program open four times each year, and are advertised both directly through all media channels, and directly with community groups.
