Globe-trotting troubadour Carus Thompson has toured the world alongside The John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson and Pete Murray, selling over 30,000 albums along the way.
He’s won his loyal fanbase through 25 years of hitting the road, always delivering passionate, energetic, folk-rocking shows that entertain and engage.
His latest release and eighth album Neon Folk was produced by long-time friend and fellow West Australian musical treasure Nathan Gaunt. Neon Folk was recorded in Perth between the border closures, lockdowns and mayhem of 2020/21. Thompson was living in Melbourne and found himself separated from his wife and children for over six months.
This tumultuous time has produced a wonderful record with themes of determination, hope, and - surprisingly - positivity.
It’s been released to critical and popular acclaim, joining his extensive back catalogue and further demonstrating why he’s one of this country’s favourite independent acoustic artists.
