Volunteer Week Award Ceremony 2023

Ararat Rural City Council will be recognising the efforts of the hundreds of valuable volunteers we have across our municipality at a volunteer morning tea.

As part of National Volunteer Week activities, the winner will be honoured at a morning tea event at the Ararat Art Gallery TAMA on Thursday 18 May 2023 at 10:00am.

To nominate an individual or a community group, please fill in the form below. Nominations close Wednesday 10 May 2023 at 5:00pm.

Each community group that submits a nomination will go in the draw to win $500 to go towards continuing their incredible efforts amongst our community.

Eligibility

Only volunteers are eligible.

Volunteers are considered to be individuals or groups who are not paid for their activities and efforts (apart from reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses incurred).

The national definition of volunteering states that: “Volunteering is time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain.”

An individual volunteer may be nominated by an organisation or individuals, on the official nomination form.

Individuals will not go into the draw to win $500 unless they are apart of a community group. What can the funds support?

  • Technology
  • Training and development
  • Equipment including personal protective equipment
  • Subscriptions
  • Transport
  • Other applicable costs that are usually incurred by volunteers or the community group.
