What is Ararat parkrun?
A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you!

When is it?
Every Saturday at 8:00am.

Where is it?
The event takes place at Alexandra Gardens, Girdlestone Street, Ararat, VIC 3377. See Course page for more details.

What does it cost to join in?
Nothing - it's free! but please register before you first come along. Only ever register with parkrun once and don't forget to bring a scannable copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won't get a time.

How fast do I have to be?
We all take part for our own enjoyment. Please come along and join in whatever your pace!

Pomonal Bike Riding Group

Bike riders from teenage to adult who ride a range of bikes from road, mountain or hybrid. Each Wednesday, leave Pomonal Store at 8:30am. It is a casual but social ride of approximately an hour with drink/eats/talk at Pomonal Store at the conclusion.

We are here for the social and mental health needs of members of our local community working shoulder to shoulder in extensive metal/woodwork workshop and socialising in our meeting room. New members are always welcome.

Pomonal Primary School

Pomonal Primary School is part of the Ararat Cluster of Small Schools. Students participate in sporting and educational activities and camps with Moyston, Maroona, Buangor.

The town of Pomonal was named after the Roman Goddess Pomona, goddess of orchards and fruit trees. With the establishment of orchards in the area the school began in 1887. The original school building still remains as an administration room.

The school is a vital part of the friendly village community of Pomonal. The Pomonal Primary School staff consisting of one principal who currently teaches Year 3-6 students, a full time Prep-Year 2 teacher, part time 1-3 teacher, a full time Integration Aide, EFT 0.4 Business manager, EFT 0.2 Specialist Art teacher, targeted Literacy and Maths Intervention teacher, 0.2 Specialist Library Teacher, Specialist IT support and Cleaner

The Pomonal/Halls Gap playgroup is based at Pomonal School and hold regular playtimes for pre-school children.
