Council Addresses Temporary Fencing on Barkly Street

Ararat Rural City Council wishes to address community concerns around the temporary fencing situated on Barkly Street in Ararat.

Council is diligently following all necessary legal procedures and is actively engaged with the property owners to resolve any building issues, so that the footpath can be safely reopened as soon as possible.

The temporary fencing will remain in place for the protection of the public, and we greatly appreciate the community’s cooperation and patience whilst we work to resolve this matter

Council will continue to provide updates to the community as progress is made.

"We’re working closely with the property owners to address the necessary requirements and facilitate the reopening of the footpath as soon as it is deemed safe for public use,” says Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison.

“We appreciate that the temporary fencing may create some inconveniences for our residents and local businesses, but ensuring the safety of our community is our primary concern.”
