AFL legend and prostate cancer survivor David Parkin is coming to talk to local blokes about their prostate health!
Did you know that men living in rural or regional Australia have a 24% higher rate of dying from prostate cancer compared with their urban counterparts?
Research suggests that rural patients tend to present later and have worse outcomes compared to urban patients because many blokes in the bush ‘don’t want to make a fuss’.
Well, we ARE going to make a fuss on November 24!
Local men over 40 are encouraged to get along to an event where a bunch of blokes aren’t frightened to talk about their prostates.
Prostate cancer survivor and AFL legend, David Parkin OAM will be there to talk about the importance of understanding prostate health and what he’s learned from his own health journey.
Tickets include dinner and a complimentary drink. All proceeds will go to the Male Bag Foundation and the Blue Ribbon Foundation – Ararat Branch.
Let’s talk about prostates and save some lives!
