You’re Invited to the Biggest Ararat Rural Harmony Day Yet
Ararat Rural City Council and Ararat Neighbourhood House are delighted to invite families, kids, and all members of our community to celebrate this year’s Ararat Harmony Day. The event will be held on Saturday 22 March at Gordon Street Recreation Reserve, from 11:00am until 2:00pm.
A staple of our community events calendar, Harmony Day is an annual celebration across Australia which honours our country’s cultural diversity and promotes respect and understanding between people of different backgrounds.
Our community event will be full of exciting performances and activities including live music and dance, a variety of cultural dishes for everyone to try (such as homemade spring rolls, butter chicken and other curries, vegetarian options, snack buns for kids and more) and family fun (a pop-up play area for children, free face painting, and cultural games).
“Learning about one other’s cultures expands both our individual perspectives and our collective knowledge, and the result is a more resilient community,” says Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Jo Armstrong. “Rural Harmony Day is all about nurturing that authentic feeling of belonging for every member of Ararat Rural City.”
Ararat Rural Harmony Day 2025 is supported by the Victorian Government’s Multicultural Festivals and Events Program.
Further sponsorship is provided by Ararat Rural City Council, Ararat Neighbourhood House Inc, Rural Australians for Refugees, Ararat SES, GWMWater, Wyndham Community & Education Centre, Ararat Holy Trinity Church, Bakers Delight Ararat, Ararat Meat Exports, and AME Systems.
