Pomonal Art Show & Festival Returns to Bolster Student Experiences

The 2024 Pomonal Art Show & Festival will be held across three days this week and weekend, with all proceeds going to Pomonal Primary School.

The event kicks off with the Community Dinner, Show and Auction at 6.30pm on Friday 1 November, held at Pomonal Hall. Tickets are just $25 for adults and $10 for children. The dinner is a two-course meal featuring a hearty roast and a variety of desserts, along with kid-friendly options. There will be an array of auction items to bid on.

Saturday 2 November will see the Market in full swing at Pomonal Primary School from 9am - 2pm, while the Art Show will be open to viewers from 10am - 2pm. The Market will include many stalls filled with unique finds, coffee and cake stations, a chance for kids to try being a firefighter, and the opportunity to hold a Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo or snap a photo with the World’s Cutest Sheep. Lunch options will include a BBQ and an authentic Indian meal courtesy of Halls Gap’s Spirit of Punjab.

At 1pm, the Primary School’s time capsule will be re-laid in a special ceremony. There will also be a raffle with many great prizes to be won, including a large trailer of firewood.

Sunday 3 November is your last chance to view the Art Show, open from 10am - 2pm.

The Art Show will feature professional art from local and renowned artists, and all proceeds from the event will go to Pomonal Primary School.

Attendees at this year’s event are directly helping local students and supporting the Pomonal community’s recovery. Pomonal students recently returned from experiences at Werribee Zoo, Cave Hill Creek (Year 2 and 3 camp), and Phillip Island (Years 4-6 camp), all made possible by funds raised at the Pomonal Art Show.

“By buying a ticket or making another purchase at the Pomonal Art Show event, you’re making a direct and enormously worthy contribution to our local students’ learning opportunities,” says Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison.
