The McLellan Street Culvert Project has reached a significant milestone as the base for the multicell culvert has been successfully completed. The project, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and accessibility in our community, is progressing steadily.
As of today, Miller’s Civil Contractors have finalised the base for the multicell culvert, laying the groundwork for improved drainage and road stability. Additionally, the final crossovers for access to properties along McLellan Street are nearing completion, ensuring minimal disruption to residents in the area.
The next phase of the project will see the installation of the culverts, scheduled to commence next week. This process is expected to take approximately one to two weeks to complete, followed by the sealing of the road and site clean-up.
"We're pleased with the progress of the McLellan Street Construction Project thus far," stated Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison. "The successful completion of the culvert base marks a significant step forward in our efforts to enhance infrastructure and ensure the safety and convenience of our community members."
The entire project is anticipated to be completed by the end of March 2024. Upon its completion, McLellan Street will offer improved drainage, enhanced access to properties, and a smoother driving experience for all road users.
