Local businesses are encouraged to act now with the closing date for entries into the 2024 East Grampians Business Awards quickly approaching. Applications are open to all businesses across Ararat Rural City until Sunday 22 September 2024. Businesses are welcome to enter more than one category.

The East Grampians Business Awards acknowledge driven and successful businesses, with the opportunity to win a cash prize or advertising package up to $3,000 across seven categories: Business of the Year, Best New Business, Innovation and Change, Retail and Hospitality, Trades and Construction, Professional Services, and Young Person of the Year.

Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison highlighted the importance of acknowledging and celebrating leading organisations across the municipality.

"Our region boasts a thriving local economy which is driven by over 1,500 registered businesses across sectors like advanced manufacturing, construction, healthcare, retail, tourism, and agriculture," he said. "These businesses are the backbone of rural communities, creating meaningful jobs and contributing to the broader Ararat community.

"To recognise their outstanding achievements and ongoing commitment to our rural business sector, we invite all private, public, and not-for-profit organisations within Ararat Rural City to participate in these awards."

Greater Ararat Business Network President, Tom Clark, emphasised the benefits of participating in the awards.

“Greater Ararat Business Network are proud to co-sponsor the Business of the Year category with Ararat Rural City Council in this year’s awards. I encourage all businesses in Ararat Rural City to get involved and submit their applications.

“These awards are a great opportunity to assess your business, gain recognition, and celebrate your contributions to the Ararat business community," Mr Clark also noted.

These Awards would not be possible without the support of our valued sponsors GAB Network, Regional Development Australia – Grampians, MixxFM, Telstra, Ararat RSL, Nevetts Lawyers, NBN, Channel 7 and CRE8 Video Productions.

Winners will be announced at a prestigious Business Awards Gala presentation evening held at Ararat Town Hall on Thursday 7 November 2024.
