Following on from last year’s Emergency Recovery Information Sessions, Ararat Rural City Council with support from Emergency Recovery Victoria are hosting a series of Community Emergency Management Planning Workshops. These sessions will be facilitated by The Six C’s - Mat Deans and Sue Rondeau, award-winning emergency management specialists.

The workshops are designed to develop tailored strategies to address unique local vulnerabilities, enhance local capacity and capabilities to manage emergencies, identify community strengths and assets, and strengthen a community's preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities for disasters.

They also serve as a pathway to secure essential funding and resources.

The workshops will be held across the same five townships in which the Emergency Recovery Information Sessions were held in late 2024, and will include complementary dinner for attendees.

To register your interest in a particular session or to make any enquiries, either scan the QR code provided, call the Community Recovery Helpline on (03) 53550980, or email [email protected].

“These Planning Workshops come at a time when the current bushfire season is at the forefront of everyone’s minds,” says Ararat Rural City Council Mayor, Cr Jo Armstrong. “This is the perfect time to put our heads together and discuss what’s working, what isn’t working, and to develop plans that are tailored to our own local communities. The workshops are all about empowering our residents by providing the knowledge and tools to build community resilience.”
