Ararat’s Young People Pitch for Future Opportunities

Ararat young people have the chance to demonstrate their job readiness to local community partners at a new event this week, supported by Crazy Ideas College (CIC) in partnership with Ararat Rural City Council.

Following the completion of CIC’s Future Ready Program, a select group of young people from Marion College Ararat and Ararat College will come together to further clarify their talents, consider local career opportunities, explore the future world of work, and identify the contributions they want to make to the world.

The group of Year 9, 10 & 11 students will pitch their vision to a panel of local employers and community partners, showcasing their capabilities with the aim of not only receiving valuable advice on the job experience, but opening opportunities to shape the future of their community through their own skills and ideas.

Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison, who will join as one of the panellists at the upcoming pitch event, said: “I’m looking forward to hearing the things our young people envision for our community. This program offers a valuable opportunity for community members and local businesses to work together with the next generation to shape the future of Ararat Rural City.”

Crazy Ideas College’s programs have been designed in collaboration with local needs, while incorporating the best parts of human-centred design, future thinking, and innovation methodologies. Through these programs, young people are supported in their ideas, equipped with skills, and connected with their local community, manifesting the confidence to make an informed contribution to the world.
