Ararat Rural City is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the latest round of its Community Grants Program, offering financial assistance to bolster local initiatives and strengthen community bonds.
Local groups are encouraged to submit applications for grants of up to $5,000 on a two-for-one basis across four distinct categories: Sports/recreation and health/wellbeing, culture and arts, environment and sustainability, and events.
Ararat Rural City Council disbursed a total of $40,800 across thirteen diverse projects in the November 2023 round of Community Grants. Recipients include the Ararat Y’s Menettes Club for their 2023 Carol’s by Candlelight event, the Ararat & District 8 Ball Association for the 2024 Victorian Country Cup Carnival, and the enhancement of playground facilities at the Willaura Kindergarten.
Dr. Tim Harrison, Chief Executive of Ararat Rural City, emphasized the pivotal role played by local groups and clubs in fostering community well-being.
"Our Community Grants Program is designed to empower local initiatives and uplift projects that enhance the fabric of our communities," stated Dr. Harrison. "We encourage groups dedicated to fostering inclusive, connected, and vibrant communities to seize this opportunity and submit their proposals by March 1, 2024."
The initiative proudly champions community-led endeavors, providing financial support to amplify engagement in sports and recreation, cultural events, arts accessibility, and sustainability initiatives.
Applications for the Ararat Rural City Council Community and Events Grants Program will be accepted until March 1, 2024, at 5:00 PM. Interested groups can apply online at www.ararat.vic.gov.au or obtain hard copy applications from municipal offices.
