Ararat Library Unveils New Look After Interior Upgrades
Ararat Library has welcomed community members back after interior upgrade works were completed this month.
Refurbishment works, including the installation of all-new flooring and mobile shelving, began last month to create a more modern and flexible multi-use space.
The new mobile shelving in the adult fiction and non-fiction areas will allow the space to be easily adapted for a variety of the library’s programs.
The project also delivered a new customer service desk, improved library signage, new soft furniture for reading and quiet study, and two new public computers to meet technological demands.
Funded by a $200,000 investment under Council's Capital Works Program, these upgrades reflect feedback received mid-last year and address the community's changing needs.

"This project is a great example of Council listening to the community and responding with action,” says Ararat Rural City Council CEO, Dr Tim Harrison.
“With these upgrades, the Ararat Library is now a more modern and functional space that will better serve the evolving needs of our library users. We encourage everyone to come and explore these improvements and take advantage of all the library has to offer."
